KIP XS

Test Stations ХS are used in electrochemical protection systems to control the parameters, to connect separate elements of the system and to label the metal pipeline routes and other underground metallic facilities. Test Stations monitor the protective and polarized potentials of the underground pipelines, values and flows of currents; drainage cables and anodic groundings are connected. Test Stations ХS are mounted at the distance along the routes in accordance with a project.

What does a Test Station ХS consist of?

Plastic body of the device is fire resistant and has rectangular or equiangular triangle in a horizontal cross section. Non-ferrous metal control board with contact terminals secures the connection with measurement and power cables. The number of the measurement and power terminals depends on operating conditions and their purpose. Test Station ХS is also equipped with a mounting and inspection hatches with locking mechanisms. A signaling cap of different colors is located at the upper part of the Test Station. The color depends on a pipeline type. Anchors inserted in the holes in the lower part of KIP prevent the equipment to be freely and effortlessly taken from the soil. The lower part is designed to have an access hole for the wires and cables. The device is recommended to be penetrated into the soil at the height of 0.7 m. This is marked with a black line at the body of the device. A milepost to identify a pipeline route is optionally supplied. Climatic category for KIP ХS is UHL 1, range of operating temperatures is -60 — + 60 °C.
